Gutsy Cup - GRAND FINAL Empty Thanks

Thanks for updating that Dave...

We reckon Gareth Widdrop has that slightly better chance of getting a run in the "pick it out of the hat" storm side than Joel Moon does as 18th Man for the Warriors this weekend

Now watch Moon score a hat trick....

Gutsy Cup - GRAND FINAL Empty Bears Grand Final squad

Post  Stumpy Fri Sep 03, 2010 4:07 pm

After losing Luck, Tongue and Lowe in the past month, Fairy has had to choose between a couple of young guns to lock the scrum in the decider; eventually giving Ayshford the nod as he has had more top grade experience than Proctor. Andrew Ryan will skipper the side, and all will be hoping the 'c' behind his name doesn't see him go the way of his predecessors over the past fortnight. New buy Sandor Earl has edged Johnny Williams for a spot on the bench. Fairy has been impressed with 'Shandy's recent form with the Dalgety Panthers. Ben Cross will also travel to the hallowed turf as 18th man.

The full squad is:

FB Anthony Minichiello
W Michael Robertson
C Dane Nielson
C Joel Monaghan
W Nathan Merritt
FE Benji Marshall
HF Luke Walsh
BR Blake Ayshford
BR Andrew Ryan ©
BR Dean Young
FR Kade Snowden
HK Nathan Friend
FR Shane Tronc
ResBK Sandor Earl
ResBK Joel Reddy
ResFD Aiden Tolman
ResFD Ryan Tandy
Kicker Benji Marshall

Arrow AADRVARKS vs BEARS bounce

Minor Premiers Aardvarks are looking for back to back premierships and what better way to do it than see off the Bears, the fomer pale champions of the GC who had that aura that has long since vanished. Razz

The Aardvarks now after 4 straight wins over the Bears stretching back to last year's semi-finals will be looking to make it 5 in a row over the arch enemies..... cheers although we do feel it will be a much tighter game than the belting the Bears got 2 weeks ago.... but then - maybe Flash Gordon will put on another dispay this weekend.

Prior to the semi thrashing - the previous 3 wins had been 48-46 ; 42-36 & 43-38 in rnd 17 - so we expect the Bears to come back strong after their win over the Blue Tongues last week.

For the Aardvarks this weekend - we lose Chris Lawrence after leading once too often with his jaw, but luckily, buy of the season Ben Farrar proved his fitness to get a starting spot in the centres. Also returning from injury will be Big Ben Hannant farao who gives us the muscle up front we were missing 2 weeks ago.

The Aardvarks side for the GF is -;

J Nightingale
M Gordon
B Farrar
J Sau
B Ryan
J Maloney
T Hodkinson
A Harrison
Z Taia
S Burgess
J Warea-Hargreaves
G Buttriss
B Hannant
J Moon
J Mullen
M Gillett
L Brown
M Gordon
