My understanding of the rules says today was all legal... Just a pity I couldn't witness it as our stupid firewall has put some tyrant rules 
in place that take away that bit of a chance for getting some enjoyment whilst at work.
But I didn't think part of the GC rule was that you had had to bid on the player before 5:30 to be able to bid on him afterwards.
The rule is that there must be 30 mins grace after the highest bid for a player to be a confirmed signing.
Whilst the player is unsigned - its open slather until either 5:30 comes around or 30 mins has passed since the final bid.... although you can only have 1 live bid going at any one time...

From my reading of the rules, Steve was able to keep both these bids alive because he had bid on both before 5:30.
He was outbid on one (Daniella) and switched to Whare before 5:30.
He could go back on Daniella before the half hour expired on that bid - and can do the same on either now so long as half an hour does not pass.
Neither you, Rob, or I can however bid on each others bid......
....at least that the way I think it works

Not sure if u can bid on 2 players in the same trade window.
Pretty sure even if u decide not to up your bid on Mr Daniela that u can switch to a new trade.
Does anyone know the exact rule on this.
